Information (How to join, rules, tips)

Summer and winter challenge is closed. Well you can still enter but you just cant win anymore.

The voting is this time by participants. This is not going to be standard, but this time You choose the winner.

How?

Participants of the winter and summer challenge post a comment under this journall, with the number + season of their favourite tile. Nummers are from left to right and from up to down, winter and summer seperate.
You can select 2 entries, people who have entered 2 entries can select 4! Voting on your own entry is not allowed. You can vote on both seasons.

in 2 weeks, thats around 15 februari we will announce the winner.
Please vote as soon as you can :)

I think the idea of this comp was to see if someone could succesfully convey a certain season (together with everything that goes with that season) but using a completely opposite tone of colours.

So, you'd think you'd judge based on which submission best conveys the season whilst having to use the opposite template. However, a lot of them are very obvious in what season they are portraying, so they all seem convey the season appropriately.

What do I judge on then? The best use and manipulation of the limited colour pallette, of course! So, here's what I think:

Number 1)
6 - Winter - Autarkeia

Great detail and depth. The manipulation of pixel location really brings out a lot of small details, such as the moon, snowflakes, and the form of the snow.

Number 2)
8 - Winter - Morganne

The detail on the mountain won this one. Shows great amount of form for such a small image.
